Tips for Applicants

Postby Kallisti » Tue Mar 25, 2008 4:01 pm

We've learned there is some more information that's helpful to share with applicants up front. This makes the application process smoother, sets expectations correctly and helps our applicants do their best. Here you go!

As a raider you are expected to check the forums regularly and participate in them. Communication is important and our forums are the primary place this occurs.

Our raid days are Wednesday and Sunday every week. We start promptly at 7:50; you should be in the zone by that time. We don't summon. You are expected to come prepared with the appropriate flasks, potions, food buffs, bandages, using the right spec, etc. We have a very light raid schedule and expect all of our raiders to have very near 100% attendance. If you can't do that, we're not the right guild.

This has been an issue in the past, so I'm going to belabor the point: we simply will not put up with people who skip raids unannounced or are frequently late. We will not be shy about replacing people who waste our raid time. That said, we have lives and we know you do too (well, most of you) and we understand that things come up. If you can't make a raid because something important came up, communicate with an officer and give us as much warning as possible (30 minutes before the raid is not ideal.) We will generally be understanding, unless it's the third time the same grandmother has passed away.

We schedule raids using the in-game calendar. You should make every raid as a recruit. Sign up. If you can't sign up, talk to an officer. If you don't decline the raid in the calendar and talk to an officer about the fact you will be missing the raid, we will assume you are coming.

You should at least have a basic understanding of the fights you'll see, or at least the abilities that the bosses will use.

If you wipe the raid because you failed *insert current content raid-wiping boss mechanic you should be aware of here*, your trial is not going to go very well.
